2012 Cadillac Cars

2012 Cadillac Cars. The flagship luxury brand of General Motors, Cadillac’s renaissance is generally traced back to the introduction of the rear-drive CTS in 2002 targeted directly at the BMW 3 Series. But before then, in 1999, it was the Escalade that put Cadillac in the spotlight right when the luxury SUV segment was taking off. The second-generation CTS brought about Coupe and SportWagon variants. The SRX crossover is another volume model for the brand. A flagship luxury sedan, known as the XTS, arrives in 2012 to replace the SLS and DTS.

Formed from the remnants of the Henry Ford Company, Cadillac is named after Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, a French explorer who founded the city of Detroit. The company was bought by GM in 1909. Known as ‘The Standard of the World” Cadillac was the first to bring to market a car with an electric ignition in 1912 and the first to use a V16 in 1930. The post-war boom of the 1950s was a golden area for the brand with growing sales, growing size and those iconic tailfins.

In 2004 Cadillac launched its V performance brand to rival BMW’s M and Mercedes’ AMG. With a focus on performance and in motorsports, the second generation CTS-V finally topped the Germans, with the 556-hp sedan being the first 4-door to run a sub 8 minute lap on Germany’s famed Nurburgring.

Cadillac Escalade News

One of my favorite things about the Cadillac Escalade is that it is incredibly relaxing and easy to drive. The leather seats are as wide and cushioned as a couch, very little sound permeates the cabin, and the steering has enough power assistance to make changing course a breeze. The soft suspension and lazy engine create a serious sense of disconnection from the road. You don't drive an Escalade, per se, you just sort of sit around and occasionally offer suggestions as to the SUV's direction.
Even though our tester was upgraded to the Platinum trim level, which brings top-spec upgrades like nicer leather and wood trim, the Escalade's interior cannot hold a candle to three-row competitors from Germany or Japan. As nicely finished as it may be, the Caddy's cabin just doesn't have the sumptuous, expensive feel of some of its rivals. Our particular Escalade was the gigantic ESV variant; I actually believe that the Cadillac has more interior room than my kitchen -- although the extra space is probably useful if you're transporting six people and all their gear.
With a vehicle this accommodating and luxurious, the last thing you want is something happening to the exterior that ruins the ambiance. And as everyone knows, there is one key area that often sees the most the damage: the front-end. A Cadillac Escalade Grill Guard is the step-up in protection you need to maintain this SUV’s classy persona. All of our Cadillac Escalade Grille Guards are of the highest quality Stainless Steel and produced by the very best, including Romik® and Westin®. Finishes include Chrome, Polished Steel, and Black Powder Coat for a stylish yet bold accent. Cadillac Escalade Grille Guards also come with instructions and hardware for a no-nonsense installation. If you’re looking for security that is as fashionable as it is tough, a Cadillac Escalade Grill Guard is your only option. Cadillac Escalade Euro Style Grille Guard
Cadillac Escalade 2007-2011, Euro Style Grille Guard by Tuff-Bar®. This is a grille guard that offers great style and great protection at a very affordable price. Headlight guards are removable and the sturdy uprights are rubber clad for pushing. The mounting kit is designed for perfect fit and easy no-drill installation on your vehicle.

2012 Cadillac Escalade

2012 Cadillac Escalade Gets Security Upgrades. Every manufacturer loves to rack up awards and media coverage of its vehicles. That’s assuming your product doesn’t make the list of “most stolen vehicles,” year after year.
Such is the case with Cadillac’s Escalade SUV, which has been at or near the top of the “most stolen” list for several years. There are multiple reasons for this, aside from the SUV’s high resale value in foreign markets like Eastern Europe, China and the Middle East.
The Escalade shares parts with many GM vehicles, so components have a high value on their own. Add in the fact that the Escalade is considered “easy” to steal via flatbed, and it’s easy to see why the truck has its dubious reputation.
For 2012, Cadillac has taken steps to ensure that your Escalade stays in your driveway and doesn’t end up in a local chop shop or shipping container.
First, the ignition system gets PASS Key 3+ security, which uses encryption between the key, the key cylinder and the ignition system to ensure that only a recognized key can start the vehicle.
That should help to deter drive-away thefts, unless the car thieves have a way of obtaining your car keys. It won’t help with “push-away” theft, which involves the use of a flatbed tow truck.
To counter this, Cadillac has again added a Cadillac steering wheel locking mechanism for 2012, which was omitted when enhanced security ignition keys were developed. The new locking system appears to use a metal plate and metal pins, which will likely prevent thieves from breaking the pins with a jerk of the steering wheel.
If you’re willing to spend a few more dollars, Cadillac will sell you improved wheel locks (since wheel theft is another common issue for the Escalade), along with a shock sensor and an incline sensor that work with the factory alarm system.
At the end of the day, nothing will stop a professional thief determined to grab your ride. Making it less convenient for him will increase the chances that he’ll target another vehicle instead of your own, because car thieves prefer the path of least resistance, too.

2010 Cadillac SRX.

Cadillac unveiled the next-generation 2010 SRX Crossover today, featuring a completely new design and more-efficient, high-technology engine choices. The new SRX is a mid-size luxury crossover coming to the North American International Auto Show next week.
'The all-new SRX is a fresh and compelling crossover aimed squarely at the priorities of luxury buyers,' said Mark McNabb, North America vice president, Cadillac/Premium Channel. 'With new technologies for increased efficiency and safety, the redesigned 2010 SRX Crossover focuses on both the emotional and pragmatic sides of the luxury consumer.'
The 2010 SRX is designed for efficient performance, including the choice of two high-tech six-cylinder engines that are new to Cadillac – the smallest-displacement engines it offers in North America. A new, 3.0L direct injected V-6 engine is standard and a new, 2.8L turbocharged V-6 is optional. Both engines employ technology that helps produce strong performance that is typical of larger-displacement engines. Direct injection enables a 25-percent reduction in hydrocarbon emissions. Fuel economy in the mid-20s on the highway is expected, but testing isn't complete.

2012 CTS-V Sedan.

2012 CTS-V Sedan. The 556 horsepower CTS-V Sedan. It’s the world’s fastest production sedan with 0–60 in a blistering 3.9 seconds. Complementing the epic power is a high-performance chassis fitted with the dual-mode Magnetic Ride Control suspension—tuned and perfected on Germany’s notorious Nürburgring racetrack—that reacts to changing demands in less time than the blink of an eye in both Touring and Track modes. Bringing it all to a halt is the massive stopping power of 6-piston front, 4-piston rear Brembo® brakes. Of course,
true performance design doesn't end under the hood. Available RECARO® performance seating with pneumatic
bolster controls provides a firm plant during performance maneuvers. Red LED tracers encircle the tachometer and flash at the approach of redline, while a g-meter communicates lateral acceleration left and right. And Obsidian Black faceplates and available Midnight Sapele wood trim add a high-tech sophistication that you would expect only from a Cadillac.

2012 Cadillac CTS.

The 2012 Cadillac CTS ranks 9 out of 21 Upscale Midsize Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 57 published reviews and test drives of the Cadillac CTS, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
Car reviewers think the 2012 Cadillac CTS is one of the best upscale midsize cars, thanks to its powerful engines, outstanding handling and modern styling.
If you’re shopping for an upscale midsize car that will stand out from the rest of the pack, automotive reviewers say the 2012 Cadillac CTS is a great choice. They like its powerful V6 engines and excellent handling. If you want a car that can handle daily commutes with ease, but also carve corners, reviewers say that the CTS is a good choice, but also cross-shop the Infiniti G and BMW 3-Series before making a decision.
The interior in the CTS also is well-liked by the automotive press. They say the modern styling, luxurious materials and easy-to-use electronics strike a nice balance. They do note that the thick rear pillars that create the edgy styling also create poor rear visibility in both the sedan and coupe, and suggest the rearview camera, which is standard on higher trim levels, for backing up.
Another downside is the narrow trunk opening in both the sedan and coupe, which reviewers say makes loading cargo difficult. Some test drivers also dislike the front seats in the CTS, saying they lack support, while others found them to be just fine. Despite these drawbacks, the automotive press says if you want to turn heads in a car with a luxurious cabin, the Cadillac CTS is one of the best choices in the class. Cadillac Body Kits.
If you're looking to add a whole new dimension to your exterior, Body Kits at CARiD are the answer! We'll help you find a Body Kit that turns your "everyday" vehicle into a customized ride that leaves a lasting impression. All of our Body Kits come from top-name designers who've been in the game for years, giving us an advantage in quality no one can compete with. Cadillac XTS Platinum.

We first saw the Cadillac XTS Platinum concept (pictured) at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show, but it appears that the production car will finally bow in Los Angeles next month. The XTS will be Cadillac's new flagship sedan, replacing both the STS and DTS when it arrives.
The big highlight of the XTS will be Cadillac's new CUE infotainment system, which will later be available in the ATS sedan and SRX crossover. Mum's the word on what sort of powertrain will be lurking under the hood of the new flagship, but recent reports have suggested that we could see a turbocharged version of General Motors' new 2.5-liter inline-four, producing around 300 horsepower. For reference, the XTS Platinum concept debuted with a 3.6-liter V6 mated to a plug-in hybrid system, delivering 350 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
The XTS will go into production in the spring of 2012. We'll have the full suite of details live from Los Angeles next month.

2012 Cadillac SRX.

While standing in front of the newly updated 2012 Cadillac SRX, a fellow journalist asked Cadillac Communications Manager David Caldwell why the crossover wasn't based on a rear-wheel-drive chassis. The answer? "We already tried that," said Caldwell.
And then came a new Cadillac SRX in 2010, and through the bespeckled eyes of auto journalists, everything seems backwards. A transversely mounted V6 engine displacing 3.0 liters sent 265 horses to the front wheels in its base configuration, and while all-wheel drive was still optional, the Theta Premium chassis was never intended for tail-wagging antics. There was an available 2.8-liter turbocharged V6, but it didn't make up for the missing V8, and it was canceled due to slow sales after a single year on the market.
Great wails were heard from Detroit to Los Angeles, but it wasn't the sound of exasperation some expected. Instead, we heard the unmistakable beat of high-fives at GM's Renaissance Center headquarters; the cymbals of cash registers ringing in Cadillac dealerships all over the country. In one fell swoop, the Cadillac of Crossovers vaulted itself from a languishing ninth spot in the luxury crossover segment all the way up to second. And as much as Cadillac would love to wrangle the gold medal from the Lexus RX, a solid silver signals a job well done.
It comes as little surprise, then, that Cadillac chose not to alter the formula much when it refreshed the SRX for the 2012 model year. To the casual observer, a 2012 model parked next to its predecessor doesn't impart any of the major changes found under the highly creased sheetmetal. So let's dig deeper.
Few brands command the kind of respect Cadillac does. There’s more than one reason, certainly, but part of it has to do with responsibility. Cadillac goes through an involved process every go-round to design and develop rides that are not only classy and luxurious, but contemporarily stylish as well. That means it is incumbent upon the driver to make sure that he/she is not settling when it comes to making modifications. Only the hottest fashion in the best quality is what will do the job. Are we seeing a pattern here? For your Cadillac Spoiler, you can only depend on the finest options available. Otherwise, you’re just cheating you and your vehicle out of what it really deserves. That’s no way to treat a Caddy. At CARiD.com, we’ll help you make sure your vehicle rolls on with classy superiority!
Cadillac Spoilers enrich the exterior layout quickly, infusing a more dynamic edge to your luxurious package. 2012 Cadillac SRX

Cadillac has just announced a new, more powerful version of its 2012 Cadillac SRX mid-size crossover SUV, which now benefits vigor 3.6-liters direct-injected V6 engine with 300 horsepower.
Offering even faster acceleration that the current 3.0-liters V6 powered SRX, the new, 2012 Cadillac SRX is expected to hit the automaker’s dealerships this summer.
Don Butler, vice president of Cadillac marketing, shares: “SRX is resonating with luxury buyers by offering the function of a crossover and the distinctive style of a Cadillac. Now, we’re raising the standards even higher by providing the SRX with enhanced performance. The new engine will make the SRX more responsive for passing on the highway, entering freeways from on-ramps and climbing hills.”
Besides its more horses, the new 3.6-liters direct-injected V6 plant also boasts FlexFuel capability and wider rpm range for its maximum torque, which gives the driver more power across a wider range of speeds and driving conditions.
Further highlights on the 2012 model year Cadillac SRX luxury SUV include standard Bluetooth phone connectivity, a heated steering wheel on the luxury, performance and premium trim levels and door lock switches on the driver and passenger door panels. Additionally, a new machined finish on the huge 20-inch rims set comes standard on the performance and premium trim levels.

Cadillac Escalade ESV

At close to 19 feet long, the Cadillac Escalade ESV is one of the longest normal passenger vehicles you can buy. It's a couple of inches longer than the longer 'L' version of the Lincoln Town Car, and only about a foot shorter than the extended version of Ford's Econoline vans often used for airport shuttling. What makes it even more intimidating is that, from ground to rooftop, it's a couple of feet taller than the typical car, or a foot taller than many crossovers.
Excess and extroversion
And with its burbling, booming 403-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 engine and ever-present exhaust note, any impression the Escalade leaves is one of excess and extroversion; it's not the kind of vehicle old-money types will be driving, or seen in. And with its delicate, flashy trim and big chrome wheels, it's not the kind of vehicle that you'd take off-road, either.
When it comes to luxury, perhaps no other American brand represents the concept better than Cadillac. Cadillac drivers are a proud bunch, and with today's automotive climate constantly evolving, they too desire the kind of custom refinements that elevate their vehicle's overall perception. An infinitely stronger beam with a touch of flashy style make Cadillac Halo Headlights a can't miss! Standing tall in the thick of night is often too good to pass up, and CARiD features the highest quality Cadillac Projector Headlights to do it right! Each pair of Cadillac Projector Headlights is designed solely for your ride and will fit right in with factory precision. 2012 Cadillac SRX News.

The 2012 Cadillac SRX hits dealerships next month, and although the majority of its new model year updates are small, there's big news under the hood. General Motors has decided to ditch both its 3.0-liter naturally aspirated V6 and 2.8-liter turbocharged V6 in favor of the automaker's more powerful 3.6-liter V6, an engine found in a variety of applications throughout GM's portfolio.
GM has officially priced the 2012 SRX from $36,060 (*including $875 for destination).
Other changes for the 2012 model year include standard Bluetooth connectivity on all models, a new Xenon Blue Metallic paint option, new interior color choices and a revised 20-inch wheel pattern, among other things.

2011 Cadillac Escalade.

Cadillac brings back "Caddy for Caddie" promotion. Pro golf tournaments often feature a par three hole with a high-end luxury vehicle parked somewhere near the green. Get a hole in one, win the car. It makes for great television, and it's a fantastic advertising opportunity in the event a golfer actually wins the car. But what about the caddie that told the golfer which club to use and how much the wind and the surface of the green would affect the shot? The folks at Cadillac think they have an answer to that question.

The winner of the HP Byron Nelson Championship will receive one of those really big checks that you only ever see on television, but his caddie will receive something much, much larger. The winner's caddie will receive a Cadillac Escalade Hybrid, which retails for $73,840 and gets quite a bit pricier when tacking on options. Not a bad prize for toting a bag for four days.
Nothing brings out the elite look of luxury in your Caddy like glittering chrome. It’s tasteful, elegant, and ultimately, unforgettable. At CARiD.com, we make it easy for you to find the Cadillac Chrome Accessories that prove the point. We offer an entire selection devoted to Cadillac Chrome Accessories.
