Fuel efficiency ratings get a boost with Eco-mode, which changes shift points for more efficient driving, to 16-17 mpg in the city and 23-24 mpg on the highway. The SRX is available in base, Luxury, Performance, and Premium trims and competes with the Acura MDX, Lexus RX, and Lincoln MKX.
The exterior of the 2012 Cadillac SRX’s chiseled bodywork is embellished with chrome accents, Cadillac’s signature grille, and vertical LED taillights which give the SRX a bold, yet sleek appearance. Xenon high-intensity discharge headlights and the Adaptive Forward Lighting feature that automatically swivels the lights in the direction of corners and turns help brighten up the unknown and are optional. A power liftgate can be programmed to reach a certain height so it doesn’t scrape the ceiling of your garage and 20-inch wheels are also optional, while heated power side mirrors and 18-inch wheels are standard.
Because it’s a Cadillac, you can expect first-class refinement with the interior. An available slide-up touch-screen navigation and entertainment system includes voice recognition, 3D color imaging for enhanced viewing, pause-and-play radio (which is like a DVR for music), 40GB hard drive, SiriusXM radio, NavTraffic, and iPod/Bluetooth® connectivity. A 10-speaker Bose sound system with USB port is standard, while a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, backseat entertainment system, leather upholstery, and wood trim are optional.
The 2012 SRX also offers plenty of utility with an available U-Rail system and cargo fence, as well as rear seats that fold flat to create more than 60 cubic feet of cargo space. The optional sunroof covers 70 percent of the roof and has tilt/sliding capabilities.
In terms of safety, the SRX has front, side-impact, and side curtain airbags, an electronic stability system, all-disc antilock brakes, OnStar automatic crash notification, and front and rear Ultrasonic Park Assist.

Headers are installed because the stock exhaust manifolds usually flow poorly. An exhaust header has individual tubes for each exhaust port, allowing each exhaust pulse to flow unobstructed from the cylinder head. The tubes on headers are usually larger in diameter than the runners on an exhaust manifold and the tubes are mandrel bent for gradual radius bends.

2012 Cadillac Cars

2012 Cadillac Cars. The flagship luxury brand of General Motors, Cadillac’s renaissance is generally traced back to the introduction of the rear-drive CTS in 2002 targeted directly at the BMW 3 Series. But before then, in 1999, it was the Escalade that put Cadillac in the spotlight right when the luxury SUV segment was taking off. The second-generation CTS brought about Coupe and SportWagon variants. The SRX crossover is another volume model for the brand. A flagship luxury sedan, known as the XTS, arrives in 2012 to replace the SLS and DTS.

Formed from the remnants of the Henry Ford Company, Cadillac is named after Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, a French explorer who founded the city of Detroit. The company was bought by GM in 1909. Known as ‘The Standard of the World” Cadillac was the first to bring to market a car with an electric ignition in 1912 and the first to use a V16 in 1930. The post-war boom of the 1950s was a golden area for the brand with growing sales, growing size and those iconic tailfins.

In 2004 Cadillac launched its V performance brand to rival BMW’s M and Mercedes’ AMG. With a focus on performance and in motorsports, the second generation CTS-V finally topped the Germans, with the 556-hp sedan being the first 4-door to run a sub 8 minute lap on Germany’s famed Nurburgring.

Cadillac Escalade News

One of my favorite things about the Cadillac Escalade is that it is incredibly relaxing and easy to drive. The leather seats are as wide and cushioned as a couch, very little sound permeates the cabin, and the steering has enough power assistance to make changing course a breeze. The soft suspension and lazy engine create a serious sense of disconnection from the road. You don't drive an Escalade, per se, you just sort of sit around and occasionally offer suggestions as to the SUV's direction.
Even though our tester was upgraded to the Platinum trim level, which brings top-spec upgrades like nicer leather and wood trim, the Escalade's interior cannot hold a candle to three-row competitors from Germany or Japan. As nicely finished as it may be, the Caddy's cabin just doesn't have the sumptuous, expensive feel of some of its rivals. Our particular Escalade was the gigantic ESV variant; I actually believe that the Cadillac has more interior room than my kitchen -- although the extra space is probably useful if you're transporting six people and all their gear.
With a vehicle this accommodating and luxurious, the last thing you want is something happening to the exterior that ruins the ambiance. And as everyone knows, there is one key area that often sees the most the damage: the front-end. A Cadillac Escalade Grill Guard is the step-up in protection you need to maintain this SUV’s classy persona. All of our Cadillac Escalade Grille Guards are of the highest quality Stainless Steel and produced by the very best, including Romik® and Westin®. Finishes include Chrome, Polished Steel, and Black Powder Coat for a stylish yet bold accent. Cadillac Escalade Grille Guards also come with instructions and hardware for a no-nonsense installation. If you’re looking for security that is as fashionable as it is tough, a Cadillac Escalade Grill Guard is your only option. Cadillac Escalade Euro Style Grille Guard

2012 Cadillac Escalade

2012 Cadillac Escalade Gets Security Upgrades. Every manufacturer loves to rack up awards and media coverage of its vehicles. That’s assuming your product doesn’t make the list of “most stolen vehicles,” year after year.
Such is the case with Cadillac’s Escalade SUV, which has been at or near the top of the “most stolen” list for several years. There are multiple reasons for this, aside from the SUV’s high resale value in foreign markets like Eastern Europe, China and the Middle East.
The Escalade shares parts with many GM vehicles, so components have a high value on their own. Add in the fact that the Escalade is considered “easy” to steal via flatbed, and it’s easy to see why the truck has its dubious reputation.
For 2012, Cadillac has taken steps to ensure that your Escalade stays in your driveway and doesn’t end up in a local chop shop or shipping container.
First, the ignition system gets PASS Key 3+ security, which uses encryption between the key, the key cylinder and the ignition system to ensure that only a recognized key can start the vehicle.
That should help to deter drive-away thefts, unless the car thieves have a way of obtaining your car keys. It won’t help with “push-away” theft, which involves the use of a flatbed tow truck.
To counter this, Cadillac has again added a Cadillac steering wheel locking mechanism for 2012, which was omitted when enhanced security ignition keys were developed. The new locking system appears to use a metal plate and metal pins, which will likely prevent thieves from breaking the pins with a jerk of the steering wheel.
If you’re willing to spend a few more dollars, Cadillac will sell you improved wheel locks (since wheel theft is another common issue for the Escalade), along with a shock sensor and an incline sensor that work with the factory alarm system.
At the end of the day, nothing will stop a professional thief determined to grab your ride. Making it less convenient for him will increase the chances that he’ll target another vehicle instead of your own, because car thieves prefer the path of least resistance, too.
